UA Enterprise GIS

The UA Enterprise GIS (EGIS) is a service housed within the UA Department of Planning, Design & Construction. EGIS manages the University’s system of record for campus spatial information, which support administrative,operational, and academic needs. GIS is used at the University to manage assets, analyze the physical campus, assist with wayfinding, manage space, and much more. EGIS services and resources are provided to students, staff, faculty, and members of the Tucson community at large.

GIS Infrastructure and Map Services

GIS server infrastructure supports university web map applications, including publishing map services, hosting applications, and more. Map services are available for use by other campus development teams to provide up to date information for  their applications.

The EGIS hosts a number of web map applications supported by Enterprise GIS data. EGIS Staff develops or manages development of applications both internally and in diverse teams to improve wayfinding, public information & safety, campus analytics, asset management, and more.

Project Management and Scoping

EGIS scopes and manages internal projects as well as provides assistance to campus departments with their GIS projects.

Custom Maps, Reports, Analyses

Project-specific maps, reports, analyses, and data conversions are provided on an as-needed basis. Please contact us to collaborate.

UA Administrative ArcGIS Online (AGOL)
This AGOL site is a repository for data layers, web maps, and applications that are used by Administrative staff on campus. ArcGIS Online is the “web-gis” platform provided by our GIS software vendor, Esri. The University’s site license includes an “Academic AGOL organization” site and an “Administratiive AGOL organization” site. EGIS manages the administrative AGOL site.

University of Arizona Campus Maps Portal
The UA Maps portal includes links to all public institutional web map applications, including the UA Sustainability Web Map, Parking and Transportation’s UArrive, and many others! The portal also includes a number of printable static maps provided in PDF form.

Provides a forum for asking questions and posting changes/updates to EGDB data objects, database structure, system infrastructure, security.

UA GIS User’s Group Confluence Website
The UAGIS User’s Group (UAGISUG) is open to all UA GIS Users and serves as a communication, coordination, and decision-making body for campus. Below are several ways to become involved. This Confluence site is a repository for meeting minutes, upcoming events, and more information.

UA Academic ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Site
This AGOL site is a repository for data layers, web maps, and applications that are used and created by Academic staff and students on campus. The academic AGOL site is managed by Tawny Lochner (SGD) and Andrew Honaman (SNRE).

UA Esri Site Licence

The University has a Site License for Esri GIS software, making it available for use by UA Faculty, Staff, and Students. Please see the UA Software Licensing page for more information. For Esri help requests originating within Administrative units or pertaining directly to use of EGIS resources, please contact EGIS to submit the request. For Esri help requests originating within Academic units (pertaining to research or instruction) please contact Tawny Lochner or Andrew Honaman.

UA Survey Information

Enterprise GIS data includes survey points on and around campus that are used as control for project surveys and other purposes. Please contact us for more information.
