Description
The new Applied Research Building (ARB) is a very specialized, one of a kind research facility designed specifically for UA applied research programs. This three-story building has a variety of programmed spaces, including high bay payload assembly areas, a large scale thermal vacuum chamber, unique research / customized laboratories, clean rooms, faculty offices, collaboration spaces, and conference rooms.
The ARB will be located at the southeast corner of Helen Street and the Highland Corridor. The Highland Corridor will be improved and realigned as part of this project to provide safer pedestrian and bicycle crossings at Helen Street.
Construction of exterior wall framing, sheathing, waterproofing and masonry in progress; metal wall panel skin systems starting soon. Level 4 (Roof) mechanical room, steel pan decking, antenna platform framing complete. Elevator shafts, Level 2 and Level 3 interior metal stud partitions, mechanical and electrical rough-in ongoing.
